LAST RIDE HOME

As we near the third anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Nova Scotia filmmaker, Joshua Saunders, aims to shed light on the human cost of the war in his debut feature-length documentary Last Ride Home.

Over the course of two years, Saunders undertook three separate journeys to Ukraine, spending 135 days with his camera on the front lines. The result is a deeply moving documentary that spotlights the volunteers delivering critical medical aid on the frontlines and the families left behind in uncertainty. Through personal and poignant narratives, Last Ride Home offers an intimate portrayal of separation, sacrifice and resilience amidst the ongoing conflict.
